Hello!

My name is Harriet - I am an experienced, versatile and dynamic Senior Lecturer with 13 years of high volume teaching and learning experience in criminology and associated disciplines behind me. I have a lifetime of innovative ideas in me and an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, I am keen to learn and to develop and like to work hard but smart.

I enjoy developing innovative, inclusive and diverse strategies for learning and teaching in Criminology and associated disciplines in Higher Education. I enjoy project work and action research with interests in feminist, critical and cultural criminology, identity, harm and critical pedagogy. My current action research focuses on preventing harmful sexual behaviour in the world of the young person in partnership with schools and community stakeholders. I am the Founding Director of The Community Criminology Project a small community interest company working with stakeholders and communities to co-create and share knowledge to reduce harm and increase access to social and criminal justice. My passion lies firmly in communicating big ideas and challenging subject matter to a variety of diverse learners across the full spectrum of formats and group sizes.

Please feel free to take a wander through my portfolio to see some examples of my work. You'll find a real variety of areas of teaching and research interests alongside examples of my community and outreach work with a broader focus on applied harm reduction through education.

All the Best,

Harriet
